In this 2 hour handbuilding workshop, you’ll use slabs to create the perfect wall pocket for fresh blooms and dried flowers alike! Wall pockets add a special little flare to any reading nook or blank wall needing some pizazz. You’ll arrange a series of pockets that are uniquely your own, then use underglaze to adorn and embellish. 

Beginners welcome. This class is best suited for adults. Class is limited to 8 participants.

Meet the Instructor

Moon Williams is a creator and educator. Key words she uses to describe herself and her workshops include: Alchemy, Flow, Connection, Release, Receive, Detail oriented, Empowering. She finds joy in creating objects that illuminate and adorn. Practicing since fall of 2020.

Lindsay Wood (she/they) began her clay adventure back in 2015 when she took her first ceramics class at the Visual Arts Center in Richmond and has been hooked ever since! Using handbuilding methods, she focuses on both functional and unique forms that are then painted and carved using a variety of surface decoration techniques. Her wares are carved with imagery reflective of her inspirations, joys, memories and nature. Lindsay teaches classes through local nonprofits Art 180 and Art on Wheels, and is a member and teacher at Carved in Mud Studios. She believes that art has healing powers, and can touch people’s lives by reducing stress, boosting self-esteem, and encouraging self-expression.
