Collage Snack Sets
Explore the possibilities of collage designs on clay through the underglaze transfer process!
Spend an afternoon designing and making a 3-4 piece ceramic snack set for your holiday entertaining. In this class you have the option to press flat slabs into small dishes using a collection of wooden forms, or by turning up the edges by hand. Each surface will be decorated with homemade underglaze transfers. Be prepared to discuss and consider strategies for visual continuity between each piece in terms of surface design and shape. No experience needed. All materials are included.
Children 10 and older are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. Parents with children should register for 2 spots. Class is limited to 8 participants.
Please check our FAQ’s page for additional information on the studio and read our Cancelation Policy prior to booking!
This is a one day, 3-hour class. You’ll pick up your finished pieces 3-4 weeks after the class.

Meet the Instructors
Jody Symula earned her MFA from the Painting and Printmaking department at VCUarts in 2006 and has recently returned to clay, a love that she had as an undergraduate student in Northern California. Through the use of underglaze transfers, she is able to translate her painting and printmaking vocabulary and aesthetic to functional ceramics which has become a core tenant of her current studio practice.
