One-day, four-hour workshop
Open to ages 16 and up with experience
In this Intermediate one day, 4 hour workshop taught by Carla Pillsbury, you’ll focus on expanding your knowledge of various surface decoration techniques, encouraging you to test the boundaries of your work surfaces and further your creative self-expression. Some of the skills you’ll learn are carving, sgraffito, inlay, slip-trailing, stencils and transfers.
This class is open to both wheel throwing and handbuilding enthusiasts. Beginning Clay (wheel throwing or handbuilding) is a pre-requisite to this course. Students are encouraged to bring 2 leather hard pieces and 2 bisqued pieces to practice techniques on.
All wares should be taken home with you at the end of the day on or placed on the greenware shelf for firing, as this workshop does not allow for storage. Tools are available but it is suggested that you bring your own or purchase a kit from the studio.
There must be 6 students registered to confirm. You’ll pick up your finished work 3-4 weeks after the class.
