Introduction to Slip Casting

Interested in Slip Casting?
In this Beginner course, you’ll learn step by step how to create your very own plaster molds. You’ll implement casting, firing and glazing techniques to create multiples of various small forms. Jordan will guide you through the steps to ensure you walk away with a 1 part mold perfect for creating reproductions of your favorite small form. Slip, plaster, and other materials are included! Just bring a small object approximately the size of your fist that you’d like to use to make a mold. Class is limited to 8 participants and students must be 16 years of age or older.
All students enrolled in a multi-week class are allotted up to 6 hours of unguided Open Studio time weekly to practice outside of class. Students can retake this course as many times as they like.
Tools are not included in multi-week classes; bring your own or purchase a kit from the studio! There must be 6 students registered to confirm.
